Bella Ink Designs Named 2008 LOUIE Award Finalist

We're happy to announce that BT-27, one of our most popular baby invitations, has been nominated as a finalist in the Imprintable-Everyday category for the 21st Annual International Greeting Card Awards competition, otherwise known as the LOUIE Awards.  (Think Oscar for the Stationery Industry)

Out of 800+ entries, 176 designs from both U.S. and international publishing companies made it to the final round of judging held on January 29-30, 2009 in Washington, D.C.  To be eligible for judging, all entries had to be marketed and sold in the U.S. during 2008.

A panel of 13 judges scored entries on a scale of 1-10 for Imagination, Impact, Artistry, Harmony, Sendability and Value. Winners in each of the 58 categories will be announced at Capitale in New York City on May 18th.  The event begins at 6:30 PM and includes a viewing of all LOUIE Award finalists, followed by an awards presentation.  

"The companies named as LOUIE finalists clearly show the creativity and artistic talent that are evident in our industry's products," said Greeting Card Association President Steve Laserson of American Greetings Corporation, Cleveland, OH.

Entries will also be on display at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center during the National Stationery Show, which runs from May 17th through May 20th in New York City.

Bella Ink Designs is Gold Place Winner!

In January of 2009, Bella Ink Designs was named Gold Place Winner for the Central Region in Neenah Paper's quarterly PAPERWORKS Contest for the Text and Cover category.

Neenah Papers, Inc. manufactures premium paper products.  According to the company's PAPERWORKS Contest entry form, eligibility for quarterly judging in the Text and Cover category requires a business to use any of their premium grade papers to produce "annual reports, newsletters, brochures, sustainability reports, posters, books, folders, luxury packaging and other print collateral."

Bella Ink's winning submission for the fourth quarter was their Spring 2009 collection of watercolor stationery, printed on Neenah's Sundance paper.  Sundance is 30% post-consumer and Green Seal Certified.  Bella Ink is taking this environmental responsibility one step further by donating 10% of their wholesale proceeds from boxed folded note EF-77, "Tree Hugger," (printed on Sundance) to American Forests, an organization who will plant one tree for every $1 donated.  EF-77 was included in the winning PAPERWORKS submission, and is part of Bella Ink's Cards that Care series.
